Anti-Mage is picked in 12.3% of Very High matches, 13.8% of High and 15% of Normal, and wins about 51% in every bracket (51% / 50.9% / 51%). Mana Break burns mana with every hit, Blink moves him in and out of fights, Counterspell reflects targeted spells and Mana Void punishes the mana he has burnt. His team gains more XP in 55.8% of games before minute 15, then 50.6% up to minute 35 and 49.5% after. His win rate climbs a little with game length: 49.6% under 25 minutes, 50.7% at 25–50 and 52.2% past 50.
Countered by MeepoAnti-Mage wins the lane: Meepo's team gains more XP in only 43.2% of games before minute 15. The matchup turns once Meepo has his clones from Divided We Stand working together.
Meepo's team gains more XP in 56.5% of games between minutes 15 and 35, and this is where he catches Anti-Mage. Earthbind roots every enemy in an area, and a rooted Anti-Mage can't Blink away. Poof brings every Meepo to the fight, and Ransack steals health with each strike and heals the other Meepos. Their damage comes from attacks, so Counterspell's magic resistance and spell reflection do little against it.
This is the strongest counter in these guides: +16.85 weighted, with +19.4 in Very High, +16.5 in High and +13.15 in Normal. Meepo wins 62.9% / 60.7% / 58.5% (Very High / High / Normal) against Anti-Mage, against his usual 54.2% / 53.3% / 52.9%. His XP-gain share stays at 57.6% after minute 35. He wins 64.8% of games under 25 minutes (145 games) and 60.7% at 25–50 (2,291 games), but only 51.3% past 50 (263 games), when Anti-Mage is fully farmed. Meepo is a rare pick, so this comes from 2,699 games.
Best teammate: LycanThe pair starts ahead: their team gains more XP in 52.8% of games before minute 15. Both heroes farm fast, and Summon Wolves let Lycan pressure another lane while Anti-Mage farms.
The pair's XP-gain share peaks at 58.3% between minutes 15 and 35. Howl lowers the armor and attack damage of every enemy within 2000 range, and at night everywhere on the map, so Anti-Mage hits harder and takes less. Wolf Bite gives Anti-Mage the speed and critical strikes of Shapeshift, and both heroes gain 40% lifesteal and share the healing while they stay within 1200 range of each other.
With Lycan, Anti-Mage becomes an early-game hero. The pair wins 76.8% of the 95 games under 25 minutes and 52.6% at 25–50 minutes (1,485 games), but only 46.5% past 50 (273 games), and their XP-gain share falls to 43.7% after minute 35. Anti-Mage alone does best in the longest games, so this pair should end the game early. The advantage is +6.75 in Very High, +7.64 in High and +5.91 in Normal, and the pair wins 56% / 54.1% / 50.4% (Very High / High / Normal), with Lycan normally at 51.6% / 49.4% / 46.5%.
Based on 2,111,000 public ranked matches of patch 7.41, played 30 September – 14 October 2026. Advantage is the win-rate difference from what the two heroes' own win rates predict, times two (+6 is about 3 win-rate points), weighted over the skill brackets.
